Getting started

What is Ripfolio?

A free tracker for trading card collections. Search a catalog of 260,000+ cards across 8 games, scan cards with your camera, and see live market prices, profit and loss, and set progress.

Is it really free? Do I need an account?

Yes and no. Ripfolio is free, has no ads, and has no accounts at all. Nothing asks you to sign up. Ripfolio earns a small commission if you buy a card through a TCGplayer or eBay link, at no extra cost to you.

Which games are supported?

Pokémon (English and Japanese), Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Dragon Ball (Masters and Fusion World), Disney Lorcana, and Riftbound.

Your collection

Where is my collection stored?

On your own device, in your browser (or in the app). It is not uploaded anywhere, which is why there is no login. The catalog (names, art, prices) is looked up live, so only the cards you own and what you paid are saved.

How do I back up my collection?

Go to Settings, then Your collection data, then Back up. You get one file with everything (cards, sealed, lists, wantlist, grading). Do this now and then, especially before clearing your browser data or switching phones.

How do I move to a new phone or restore a backup?

Open Ripfolio on the new device, go to Settings, then Restore, and pick your backup file. Restoring merges the file in without deleting what is already there.

Why did my collection disappear?

Clearing site data, browsing in a private window, or removing the app deletes on-device storage. Ripfolio shows a warning when your browser could not save, and a reminder to back up. Restore your latest backup from Settings.

Can I import from a spreadsheet or another app?

Yes. Settings, then Import from a CSV or another app. Ripfolio reads its own export plus common formats from other trackers, matches each row to a card, and lets you review before anything is added. You can also paste a card list on the Search page.

Can I export my data?

Yes: a CSV (opens in any spreadsheet and re-imports into Ripfolio) and a PDF report from Analytics.

Scanning

How does scanning work?

Point your camera at a card, a binder page, or use rapid scan to go card after card. Ripfolio assisted matching suggests the card and you confirm it. Matching runs on your device first and falls back to our scanner when it is not sure.

Tips for better scans

Pick the game and the set first: it narrows the search from 260,000+ cards to one set and is the biggest accuracy gain. Fill the frame, avoid glare, and keep the card flat. Foil and holo cards match best straight-on.

What happens to my scan photos?

Frames are sent to the scanner to be identified and are not tied to you. When you confirm or correct a match, that card image and your answer may be kept anonymously (no account, no personal data) to improve matching for everyone.

Can I scan a sealed product?

Yes. On Browse, switch to Sealed and use Scan to read the barcode. The first time a barcode is seen you confirm the product; after that it is remembered for everyone.

Prices

Where do prices come from?

Market prices come from TCGplayer data and are refreshed throughout the day, with eBay sold averages and lowest live listings shown on card pages. Prices are estimates, not offers.

Why does a card say Price TBD?

Brand-new or very scarce cards may not have a market price yet. Ripfolio falls back to the lowest live listing when there is one.

What are pull rates?

Per-set odds of pulling each rarity. A set only gets a pull-rate page once 20 or more verified packs were sampled, so thin data is never shown as odds. No set has reached that yet.
