Terms of Service

By accessing or using Ripfolio ("the Service"), available at ripfolio.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Ripfolio is operated by Ripfolio ("we," "us," or "our"). We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Ripfolio is a social platform for Trading Card Game (TCG) collectors that provides:

• Pack opening recording: Camera-based video recording of TCG pack openings
• AI card identification: Automated card detection and identification from video and images using artificial intelligence
• Collection tracking: Digital inventory of owned cards, graded slabs, and sealed products with live market pricing
• Analytics: Profit and loss tracking, collection value history, and set completion statistics
• Social features: User profiles, activity feeds, direct messaging, group chat, and community features
• Trade and purchase facilitation: Tools to propose trades and purchase offers between users
• Card scanning: Single card and binder page batch scanning for collection import

The Service supports multiple TCG games including but not limited to Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana, Dragon Ball, and Riftbound.

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@ripfolio.app of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Account Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts with false or misleading information.

3.4 One Account Per Person

Each individual may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent free trial limitations, bans, or other restrictions is prohibited and may result in termination of all associated accounts.

4.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you upload, create, or share through the Service, including videos, images, text posts, messages, and profile information ("User Content").

4.2 License Grant

By uploading or sharing User Content, you grant Ripfolio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, distribute, and process your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. This license terminates when you delete your User Content or your account, except where your content has been shared with other users or used in aggregated, anonymized statistics.

4.3 Prohibited Content

You agree not to upload, share, or transmit content that:

• Is illegal, fraudulent, or violates any applicable law
• Infringes on any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
• Contains obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit material
• Promotes violence, hatred, discrimination, or harassment
• Contains malware, viruses, or any harmful code
• Is spam, deceptive, or misleading
• Impersonates any person or entity
• Depicts or facilitates the counterfeiting of trading cards
• Misrepresents the contents or results of pack openings

4.4 Content Moderation

We reserve the right to remove or restrict access to any User Content that violates these Terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination.

4.5 Camera and Recording

The Service requires camera access for recording pack openings and scanning cards. Videos are recorded directly through the device camera — file uploads are not permitted for pack opening recordings to maintain authenticity. By using the recording feature, you consent to the capture and storage of video content on our servers.

5.1 Facilitation Only

Ripfolio provides tools to facilitate communication between users regarding potential trades and purchases of trading cards. Ripfolio does not process transactions, handle payments, manage escrow, or act as an intermediary in any trade or purchase between users.

5.2 User Responsibility

All trades, purchases, sales, and exchanges conducted between users are entirely at the users' own discretion and risk. You acknowledge and agree that:

• Ripfolio is not a party to any transaction between users
• Ripfolio does not guarantee the identity, authenticity, or trustworthiness of any user
• Ripfolio does not verify the condition, authenticity, or ownership of any cards
• Ripfolio does not guarantee delivery, payment, or fulfillment of any agreement
• You are solely responsible for evaluating the risks of any transaction
• Any disputes arising from transactions are between the involved users

5.3 No Liability for Transactions

Ripfolio shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, or expense arising from or related to any transaction between users, including but not limited to: non-delivery, misrepresented condition, counterfeit cards, payment fraud, shipping damage, or any other dispute.

5.4 Reporting

If you believe a user has engaged in fraudulent or deceptive behavior in connection with a transaction, you may report them through the in-app reporting feature or by contacting support@ripfolio.app. While we will review reports and may take action against violating accounts, we are not obligated to mediate or resolve disputes.

6.1 Accuracy Disclaimer

The AI card identification feature uses machine learning models to detect and identify trading cards from video and images. While we strive for high accuracy, AI identification is provided as a suggestion and is not guaranteed to be accurate. Users are responsible for verifying and confirming card identifications before adding them to their collection.

6.2 No Guarantee

We do not guarantee that the AI will correctly identify every card, variant, edition, condition, or printing. Factors including image quality, lighting, card condition, angle, and glare may affect accuracy.

6.3 User Verification

Card identifications suggested by the AI should always be reviewed and confirmed by the user. Ripfolio is not responsible for incorrect collection data resulting from unverified AI suggestions.

7.1 Third-Party Data

Card market prices, price history, and valuations displayed in the Service are sourced from third-party data providers and marketplaces. These prices are updated periodically and may not reflect current real-time market conditions.

7.2 Not Financial Advice

Information provided through the Service, including but not limited to market prices, profit and loss calculations, collection valuations, price trends, price alerts, and analytics, is for informational purposes only. This information does not constitute financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any trading cards or products.

7.3 No Guarantee of Accuracy

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any pricing data. Actual sale prices may differ significantly from displayed market prices. Fee-adjusted profit and loss calculations are estimates based on published platform fee rates and user-provided data, and may not reflect actual transaction costs.

7.4 Affiliate Links

The Service may contain affiliate links to third-party marketplaces (including TCGplayer and eBay). When you click these links and make a purchase, Ripfolio may earn a commission. Affiliate relationships do not influence the pricing data or card recommendations displayed in the Service.

8.1 Free and Pro Tiers

The Service offers a free tier and a paid "Pro" subscription tier. The features included in each tier are described on our pricing page and may change over time.

8.2 Free Trial

New users may be eligible for a one-time 7-day free trial of the Pro tier. Each individual is limited to one free trial. Attempting to obtain multiple trials through multiple accounts, devices, or other means is a violation of these Terms.

8.3 Billing

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly ($5.99/month) or annually ($49.99/year) through our payment processor. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method.

8.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation, your Pro features will remain active until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

8.5 Downgrade

When your Pro subscription ends (by cancellation or non-payment), your account reverts to the free tier. All your data, collections, and content are preserved — only Pro-exclusive features become restricted.

8.6 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days' advance notice to current subscribers. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period after the notice period.

9.1 Our Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, branding, logos, and documentation, is owned by Ripfolio and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service.

9.2 Trading Card Imagery

Trading card images and data displayed in the Service are used for informational and identification purposes. All trademarks, card images, and game-related content are the property of their respective owners (including but not limited to The Pokémon Company, Wizards of the Coast, Konami, Bandai, Ravensburger, and Riot Games). Ripfolio is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any TCG publisher.

9.3 Feedback

Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the Service may be used by us without obligation or compensation to you.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or crawlers to access the Service without authorization
• Circumvent any access restrictions, rate limits, or technical measures
• Harass, threaten, bully, or intimidate other users
• Create false or misleading pack opening recordings
• Manipulate or falsify collection data, trade history, or market information
• Use the Service to promote counterfeit or unauthorized trading cards
• Attempt to bypass free trial limitations or subscription restrictions
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use the Service to send unsolicited communications or spam
• Share your account credentials with any third party

12.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, your User Content and personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Grounds for termination include but are not limited to: violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, abusive behavior, inactivity exceeding 12 months, or any conduct we deem harmful to the Service or its users.

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your account data after a reasonable retention period, except where required by law.

13.1 "As Is" Basis

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

13.2 No Guarantees

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or available at any particular time. We do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any information obtained through the Service, including AI identifications, market prices, and collection valuations.

13.3 Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with or link to third-party services and websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party services.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RIPFOLIO AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ripfolio and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service, (b) your User Content, (c) your violation of these Terms, (d) your violation of any rights of any third party, or (e) any transaction between you and another user.

16.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal legal action, you agree to attempt to resolve any dispute with us informally by contacting support@ripfolio.app and providing a description of the dispute. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days.

16.2 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

16.3 Jurisdiction

Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Greenville County, South Carolina. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

17.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ripfolio regarding the Service.

17.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

17.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

17.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
