Cookie Policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar local-storage technologies Ripfolio uses, and why. It works together with our Privacy Policy.

"Cookies" here is shorthand for cookies, `localStorage`, and `sessionStorage` — small pieces of data your browser stores so the app can work and remember your preferences.

Essential (always on). These are required for the Service to function; you can't turn them off and still sign in.

• Authentication / session — set by our authentication provider (Supabase) to keep you securely logged in and to protect against forged requests.
• Security — to help detect and prevent abuse.

Functional / preferences. These remember choices so the app behaves the way you expect.

• UI preferences such as theme and layout state.
• Onboarding and tutorial progress, so we don't repeat steps you've finished.

We do not currently use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which features are used and to fix problems. Where we do, we keep it to aggregate product usage and avoid selling or sharing personal data for advertising.

Ripfolio is ad-free for everyone — we do not show third-party display ads on any tier, and have no plans to. If that ever changed, we would update this policy and surface the appropriate consent controls before any advertising cookies were used.

• Browser controls. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in or using core features.
• Sign out. Signing out clears your session.

We'll update this policy as our use of cookies changes and revise the "last updated" date above.
